For years, I have created quilts, pillows, and handmade gifts for family and friends. Those same skills later became part of the foundation for Bearing Others Burdens, a ministry that has delivered thousands of care and comfort gifts to families walking through some of life's hardest moments.
Now, as a mother, grandmother, and entrepreneur beginning a second chapter, I created PoppyRu Gifts—a place for thoughtful gifts and handmade pieces chosen to mark life's meaningful moments.
My hope is simple: to offer beautiful gifts that feel personal, lasting, and thoughtfully chosen—whether celebrating a new home, welcoming a new baby, remembering someone special, or simply letting someone know they are loved.
Gifts That Give Back
PoppyRu Gifts was created with generosity woven into its story. A portion of each sale supports Bearing Others Burdens, helping provide care and comfort to families facing cancer, miscarriage, infant loss, and bereavement.
And The Name?
PoppyRu is inspired by the nicknames of two of my granddaughters, while NellyLou Threads takes its name from the nicknames of two more. Together, the names represent all four of my granddaughters—a little bit of family woven into both businesses.
